It is highly probable that these games descended from the European family of Jass games, which initially originated in the Netherlands. It is believed that Dutch traders introduced these games to the Indian subcontinent, where they gained immense popularity.

The 29 card game is a very addictive and strategic card game. The primary objective of the game is to be the first team to reach 6 points. In most cases, it is played by four players in fixed partnerships, wherein partners sit opposite each other. The game is played using 32 cards from a standard 52-card pack. There are eight cards in each of the usual French suits, namely Hearts, Diamonds, Clubs, and Spades.
